Before we whiten anything
Whitening only works on natural tooth structure, and only in a clean, healthy mouth. We always scale first — a surprising number of people find that removing stain and tartar was all they actually needed.
We also check for decay and exposed roots. Whitening gel on an untreated cavity is genuinely painful, and that is entirely avoidable.
Your options
- In-clinic whitening: A protective barrier is placed over the gums and a professional-strength gel applied in cycles. About 60 to 90 minutes, with results visible the same day.
- Take-home kits: Custom trays made to fit your teeth, with a milder gel worn for a set period each day over two weeks. Gentler on sensitive teeth.
- Combination: One clinic session to make the jump, then take-home trays to hold and extend it.
Making it last
For the first 48 hours avoid coffee, tea, red wine, turmeric-heavy curries and tobacco — teeth are most absorbent immediately after treatment.
Results typically hold for one to two years depending on diet and smoking. A short top-up refreshes them.
